Hiking and Bouldering on Mt. Woodson
Then we met up with my dad at Mt Woodson for an afternoon hike. I used to hike there all the time when I lived in SD, but since I wasn't a climber then, I only reciently found out it's one of the words best areas for crack bouldering. So Matt and I brought our rock climbing shoes to play on the boulders a bit during the hike. We checked everything out on the way up and found some boulders to play on on the way down. I'm not a very strong boulderer though, and although I may look like I'm doing it in the pics, I never really got more than a couple feet off the ground. Matt made it to the top of a couple boulders, but we didn't have the equipment to really take advantage of the good climbs.
We weren't quite satisfied with the little amount of bouldering we were able to do on Mt. Woodson, so my dad headed home and Matt and I hit the local rock gym so we could get our climbing fix and Matt could check out the rock gym in the area.
Then we met up with my parents for Souplantation for dinner. Fun day!!
